ClubGRANTS – Category 3 Fund: Infrastructure Grants
OverviewThis program aims to offer grants to communities across NSW to support the building, renovation and fit-out of infrastructure.
Funding is available in three key categories:
- Arts and Culture: $50,000 to $200,000 available per project
- Disaster Readiness and Community Infrastructure: $10,000 to $200,000 available per project
- Sport and Recreation: $100,000 to $300,000 available per project
Local government applicants are required to match the funding amount requested.
A total funding pool of $12.5 million is available for 2019-20.
The 2019-20 funding round dates are:
- Round 1: Opened 5 August and closed 26 August 2019, 5pm AEST
- Round 2: Opened 18 November and closed 9 December, 5pm AEDT
- Round 3: Opens 16 March and closes 6 April 2020, 5pm AEDT
Applicants may apply once per round.
Eligible applicants must:
- Have a built infrastructure that is based in NSW.
- Be an organisation with an ABN that is responsible for operating and/or maintaining the infrastructure.
- Have an infrastructure that is accessible and available to the general public the majority of the time.
- Have a infrastructure related to the three categories of funding.
- Have infrastructure works with Development Approval (including a Heritage Impact Statement and/ or an Indigenous Land Use Agreement if relevant) or written exemption.
Schools are eligible to apply however, applicants must consider if and how the infrastructure project is accessible to the public outside school hours.
Applicant groups that do not meet the applicant eligibility conditions are advised to contact the Office of Responsible Gambling Grants team for approval to use an auspice organisation. An auspice organisation may apply on their behalf and is responsible for managing the funding if the application is successful.
Eligible projects include those that will promote healthy lifestyles, enrich arts and cultural assets and assist communities to prepare for local emergency situations.
Funding can be used toward the costs of construction, alteration, renovation, completion and fit-out of buildings and community infrastructure in the following areas:
- Arts and culture
- Disaster readiness and community infrastructure
- Sport and recreation
This year, the program have expanded the emergency preparedness category to Disaster Readiness and Community Infrastructure, which will now include:
- Multi-use community facilities including halls and meeting spaces, community transport options
- Improvements to disability or community welfare infrastructure
- Infrastructure that supports youth, mental health, homelessness, and domestic violence services.
In addition, community facilities that support the community suffering the impacts of drought will also be eligible.
The main assessment criteria include:
- Merit
- Engagement
- Viability
- Budget
- Priority framework
